Introduction:
It is described on the MechMode.com website as follows:
“The Launcher mechanical mod clone is a well built and sturdy piece of kit, full stainless steel with copper contacts and adjustable 510 contact pin.The mod is telescopic and will take 18350,18500 and 18650 batteries, it has a very nice logo laser etched on the battery tube and feels great in the hand being quite heavy and well built. This mod is well known to hit hard maybe due to the conductivity of the copper contacts.”
Note: Mechanical mods are unregulated mods that operate by point of contact, therefore the device is powered by the battery touching the contacts inside the unit. They do not have any wiring. Because mechanical mods are unregulated you must use protected li-ion batteries or safe chemistry IMR batteries as an unprotected battery can cause short circuit and overheating

This telescoping stainless Mechanical Mod comes fully assembled, but can be easily broken down into its component parts.
Switch
The Launcher Mod features a flush mounted stainless steele switch, which means it has no locking mechanism, due to the fact that the switch plate is slighty recessed into the bottom cap, allowing it to stand up, on the base without firing. And even when in your pocket the switch is protected by the depth of press, that you have to put on the switch to make it fire which is good.
The switch can be easily broken down for cleaning and maintenance by unscrewing the copper threaded switch pin, which then allows the switch plate and switch spring to drop out. During continued use, you do need to ensure that this pin is tight. The bottom cap its self has really well machined threading, and attaches to the body of the Mod, with ease, no squeaking. The inner edges of the switch, are well machined with nice smooth edges.
Bottom Tube
The 24ml stainless steel bottom section of the tube is added to extend the telescoping section to allow you to use the device in 18650 mode, and just gives the tube the extra length required. This section of the tube also have a great level of machining on the threading, and also has the laser etching of what looks like IS.
Telescoping Body Tube
This 25ml wide section of the telescoping tube is machined differently from the rest of the tubing, with smooth threading running through out the tube on the inside , the out side of the tube has a really well machined ring pattern running up it, which feels great in the hand, and provides great grip.
Top Tube
The final 22ml section of the body is made up of the longest part, of plain tubing, threaded at the top (inner) and threaded at the bottom (outter). This tube also features four good sizes venting holes, should there be an issue with the battery, and it need to vent.

Top Cap
The 25ml top cap on this Mod feature standard 510 threaded connection, with a cross design on the top, tapered to 22ml at the top. The cross design also nicely runs down the side, which allows great airflow and grip. It as stated, features a copper threaded connector pin, so you can fully adjust, to allow the atomiser to sit flush on the top cap. Simply back off the threaded copper pin, Fit the Atomiser or dripper, then tighten back up the pin.
Configuration
This mod can be used with a variety of batteries, due to its clever telescoping design.
With the extended tube fitted, it can be used in 18650 mode, or with the extended tube removed with an 18350, both feel really comfortable to hold.
Aesthetics and build Quality
The threading on this mod, I haven’t been able to fault, smooth, with no metal on metal squeaks.
The Telescoping action is really smooth, and once the battery if in place it tightens up perfectly leaving no battery rattle at all. And once tightened down, stays tight.
The switch seems very well constructed, and has a really smooth action, even when pressed from different angles, with a nice positive feel to it when it is pressed, due to just the correct amount of resistance from the spring.
Even the overhang of the top cap, seems to allow for better grip when holding the mod, and allows a nice place to rest your thumb.
Performance & Real World Experiences
I love the way that the mod, due to its telescoping design, seems to be so easy to use, with little to no adjustment required straight out of the box. Even for a beginner. Simple ease off the 510 pin, attach your atty, adjust the pin back. drop in you battery, and telescope up the tube, simple as that, no further adjustment needed, it sort of self adjusts as you telescope it up. leaving no battery rattle
I find the recessed fire switch great, just being able to stand the mod up, safe in the knowledge that it cant fire. I have been carrying it around in my pocket, over the last week, and had no issues with it accidently firing, due to the fact that you do have to push the switch in fully to get it to fire.
Recommendations.
