Due to it being a pre-launch sample it came in a clear brown bottle, with a simple hand written label "Clyde".
As you open the juice to get the first signs of its flavour, the aroma that you get is quite an intriguing, a kind of bitter chocolate smell, almost a coco bean type of smell. With a hint of tobacco.
On vaping Clyde.
As you start to draw in the vapor, the first flavour you start to taste on your tongue, is that of a chocolate, not an over sweet taste, more of a bitter dark chocolate, not a form of chocolate I have tasted before when vaping. It's very pleasing on the taste buds, quite a moorish flavour. The bitterness that you taste does not in anyway detract from the taste. I think it more enhances it, similar to the bitterness you can get with a good cup of espresso. If that makes sense.
As you taste buds adjust to the flavour, you then start to pick up on the other flavours you are sensing, I use the word sensing, as that is what you are getting from the vapor, no one flavour seems to pop in your mouth, it seems to be more of an infusion of flavours that just seems to start to melt on the tongue.
As the chocolate flavour melts away, you start to get the smooth mellow tobacco undertone start coming through. Not harsh in any way, I think I would describe as a moist pipe style tobacco. This flavour seems to have an underlining of natural sweetness, which I think is provided by the Apple. It really does taste like the Apple has been infused with the tobacco, to create one flavour. Similar to when my Dad used to put slices of fresh apple into his pipe tobacco poach, to add moisture and a hint of flavour.
The combination of the the two flavours, the bitter dark chocolate and the Apple infused tobacco, work really well together to deliver a very satisfying vaping experience, one of the vapes that you can just sit back on a summers evening and enjoy for what it is.
As you vape, you do find that the flavours seem to start interchanging, and playing tricks on your tongue, on one vape you will get more apple with chocloate, and on the next vape you will get more sweet tobacco.
As the vapor hits the back of your throat it delivers a nice solid throat hit. Not as harsh as I thought it would be. Just right.
On the exhale through the nose you seem to pick up more on the Apple notes in the tobacco, and less of the chocolate, and some times it switches around, along producing a nice level of vapor.
Conclusion.
I have really enjoyed reviewing both Bonnie & Clyde, and they are both very different to each other, but on the same note are very well matched, just like their name sakes. I found Bonnie was a great summer all-day-vape, with all of its freshness. Then I found my self switching over to Clyde as the sun started to set for a nice bit of vaping pleasure. With its darker and heavy flavours. They just worked well together. And would defiantly recommend getting hold of both.
