The Augvape Druga 2 RDA - A Big Upgrade?
The Druga 2 is the latest incarnation of Augvape’s DRUGA RDA series, and not surprisingly follows on from the first and original Druga RDA. The team over at Augvape very kindly sent the Druga 2 out free of charge for the purpose of this review. But as always the opinions in this review are my own, and are in no way influenced by the manufactures.
Over the years Augvape have become none for manufacturing class leading products, with cutting edge design, all at an affordable price, such as the Augvape Druga Narada pod and Narada Pro pod.
Readers of my blog will know that I have a bit of a soft spot for Augvape, I have always like the fact that they seem to have have quite a cutting edge design culture, more setting the trend, rather than following it. The Augvape Druga 2 has been designed by Indonesia’s Mike House Vapes, and does have a bit of a retro look and feel to it. With an almost industrial look to it, with the large gold plated Clamp posts rising up of the build deck like a couple of towering chimneys.
What’s in the box.
Even the box looks a bit retro, but classy none the less.

Design & Build Quality.
As with all of the Augvape products I have had the pleasure to review, the machining is top notch, constructed out of Stainless Steele the RDA’s tolerances are all good, although I did find the top cap chamber did pull off a little to easily, and I would have preferred slightly larger O-Rings, to give a tighter fit.
The Matt black finish, gives the RDA a classic high end fuss free look, with minimal branding, apart from the stylish DRUGA double D logo.
The 810 drip tip, has an extremely low profile, raising up slightly from the stepped neck of the AFC (Air Flow Control) cap.
As well as the build deck, Augvape have, in my opinion also improved the airflow. Moving from a single slot on the original, to multiple holes, 6 on each side.
Which when combined with the multi stepped AFC Cap, you have the option to close off the top row of holes, one at a time, rotating to close ff the hole top row.
Moving across the the deeper step, you can control the airflow, closing off each pair of holes from both the top and the bottom, allowing you to draw through 6,4 or 2 holes, depending on your preference.
The Build Deck.
The USP for the Druga 2 is definitely the build deck, with its towering clamp posts rising up from the deck, topped with the aggressive knarling and deeply cut Philips headed slots.
With such large clamp holes, possibly some of the largest I have seen, you can fit some mighty large builds in, with plenty of room to thread all four legs through, tighten the down, and snip them off.
I went with 3mm fused claptons, but I would think you could fit, 4 to 4.5mm claptons or Alien , just need to be aware off how far they stick out, as you can’t have them touching the chamber cap when installed. And you just need to be aware of how hot your build will get, even with my 3mm build the whole atomiser got quite hot, with such large posts absorbing the heat.
I must say the Druga 2 is really quite simple to build on, due to large post holes, and easy to tighten and clip. With plenty of room for wicking.
To keep these massive builds feed, Augvape have given you a nice deep 6mm juice well, to hold plenty of cotton, and subsequently plenty of juice. To allow you to do more vaping, and less Squonking. I have never understood companies who create these amazing build decks, but only give you a tiny 2 or 3ml juice well. And trust me the size of some of the builds you can install in the Druga 2, defiantly take some feeding.
Performance
I have really enjoyed building on, and vaping on the Druga 2, with the squonk pin installed, it sat proudly on the newly acquired Vandy Vape Pulse 2. With a pair of fused claptons, running at 0.20ohms at 60 watts. The flavour was absolutely spot on, and totally on point. With the ability to fine tune it, by adjusting the airflow, leaving only two of the six holes left open. Seemed to, for me generate the best combination of flavour and airflow, whilst still delivering a solid DTL hit, which is what I feel the Druga 2 is designed for, just too big and airy for any kind of MTL hit.
The massive 6mm juice well, means that you can squonk or drip away to your hearts content, with out worrying about flooding the deck.
The only slight gripe with the design, with such a low profile drip tip, combined with the sizeable builds you can install is the fact that it does seem to get quite hot, fairly quickly, which does transfer up the top of the RDA. Obviously this can be solved, by switching out the drip tip, for a slightly taller one.
Positives 👍
- Massive post holes, for big builds
- Lovely deep juice well
- Wide range of airflow options
- Great flavour machine
- Amazing amount of vapor.
- A design Icon, perfect for a bit of Coil Art.
Cons
- Large Clamp posts do take up most of the deck.
- Small Standard coils, can look a bit lost.
- Top cap does get quite hot, quite quickly
- Not really a single coil set up.
Final thoughts on the Augvape Druga 2 RDA.
Really like the Druga RDA, but the team at Augvape have absolutely nailed the Druga 2 , a true design classic. With simple good looks. Definitely one of my top self RDA’s
