As part of the content on my blog, I like to try and review devices and vape gear for all levels of Vapours, from newby vapour through to more experienced hobbiest vapour. So was only to pleased to put this starter kit through it paces.
As one of the most important devices you buy is the one you start with, and the one that gets you off, and more importantly keeps you off fags. Over the last few years the starter kits have come on leaps and bounds, giving the newer vapour an overall more satisfying experience. Presentation & Packaging.
The Aspire PocketX comes packaged in a fully TPD compliment presentation box, dominated by the Nicotine Guidance warning label that is positioned on the front of the box. The front of the box also has a silver outlined drawing of the kit, with nice gold Aspire logo, sitting just above the Pocket X
The rear of the box, has a brief description of the kit, along with another massive warning label.
I'm very please to see that as an established customer focused company, Ecigwizard also include in every package sent out a very comprehensive 'Customer Information' leaflet, that gives the end user not only information about the warranty but all importantly clear and precise information regarding battery and cell safety, including charging, battery safety and battery cell behaviour.
What's in the kit.
This small, but comprehensive kit includes every thing your going to need to get started, apart from ejuice.

Pocket X breakdown & Maintenance
The PocketX comes fully assembled with a good level of charge, with one Coil pre-installed, (So don't be tempted to fire it dry, with not juice in, or you will burn the coil).
All though it comes fully assembled I would always recommend breaking it down into its component parts, so you can first understand a bit more about your new purposely, and secondly, to ensure that when you put it back together, you can ensure that everything is together nice and tight, to ensure you don't have any issues with leakage or firing,
The PocketX simple breaks down by unscrewing the chrome top cap, by twisting it a couple of times. Then you can unscrew the coil, again, by twisting it. And gently pull the tank up and off. Which is securely held on with a o-ring.
You can then pull the Drip Tip (mouth Piece) off for cleaning purposes.
The Coil.
The coil is the replaceable part of the Kit that produces the 'Vapour' and is basically a very thin Stainless Steel wire coil, inside an organic cotton wick, that absorbs the juice, which is then heated up by the wire when fired, which then produces the vapour.
These Coils should last between a week and two weeks, depending on the amount of Vaping and type of juice used, some of the sweeter juices can clog up the Coils a bit. - You will know when your Coil needs replacing as the flavour will start becoming muted, or you may start getting a burnt type taste.
When required you can just unscrew the old coil, and screw on the new one. Ensuring that it is screwed in tight. When ever you install a new coil you need to allow it to 'prime' this can be done by simply dripping juice directly onto the open areas on cotton on the coil, or by just installing you coil, in the tank full of juice, and allowing it a few minutes for it to soak in.
Juicing it up!
Filling the PocketX couldn't be easier, simply fill the empty tank with your chosen ejuice,
You must ensure that you don't over fill the tank, and only fill the tank about half way, to the max Fill line,
This will ensure that when you screw the top cap back on with the coil attached , it won't displace the juice out over the top of the tank.
Even with juice in the tank, the coil with make contact with the positive terminal at the base of the tank, to allow the device to fire.
Your PocketX is then ready to Vape.
Operation & Function.
As with any good starter kit, it needs to be simple to use, and the Pocket X couldn't be simpler.
Press the fire button five times to turn it on - you will then get a little multi coloured light show around the button, and as the same five presses to turn it off
Then when your ready Press the Fire button to Vape. The LED ring will light up around the button, when it's firing,
The colour of the light will also give you an indication as to your remaining battery life, when the 1500mah battery is above 30% charge is will light up blue, when it drops below 30% the light will begin to glow pink, The pink light is your cue to charge your battery.
Charging the PocketX
When it needs charging simply connect the PocketX to the USB cable, plugging it in via the micro USB Socket on the base,
When charging the small light on the base will light up red. When it is fully charged it will turn green.

Design & Build Quality.
This solidly Build Kit, has a sleek design, with uncluttered looks, will suit anyone's style with its wide choice of colours.
I have been testing this kit out on and off for the last few weeks, with no issues, carrying it around in my pocket, throwing in the car, normal day to day use.
Aspire have cleverly eliminated the weak point in most kits, which is the 510 connection, where the tank joins the battery, which can sometimes snap, by coming up with the one-piece design for the tank and battery, which makes it along stronger, whilst still giving you the ability to break it down for cleaning, and maintenance.
The only thing I don't like with the design is the fact that they have put the charging port on the base, which means that you have to lie it down when charging, I'm more of a stand up guy.
Performance
The Pocket X performed well, delivering a satisfying, flavourful mouth to lung hit. Although I must admit, even for a MTL vape, I did find the airflow and subsequent draw a bit to tight, although, that be be due to the fact that I'm not used to Vaping this kind of device anymore. And will properly totally suit someone new to Vaping.
The 1500mah battery lasted well, but I did find I needed to give it a bit of charge about 3/4 of the way though the day, but I am quite a heavy vapour.
I tried the same juice in one of my normal limitless tanks, for comparison, and found that the PocketX Aspire Coils, had a good level of flavour reproduction. And quite impressive for a starter kit of it price point,
Conclusion & Recomendation.
For the beginner vapour , someone coming straight off the fags, then I don't think you can go far wrong with this kit. Great vapour production, with a good level of flavour, sitting on a good sized 1500mah battery.
