The Augvape Vx200 TC Kit.
The Augvape VX200 Kit is the latest edition to the Augvape range, aimed at vapours looking to make the Step up to box mod kits. This on-the-vape is constructed out of light weight ABS plastic, and comes complete with 3, Yes 3 Disposable Jewel tanks, which comes pre-installed mesh 0.15ohm Sub Ohm coils.
The whole ‘single use plastic ‘ story, is never out of the news, so I’m not quite sure how I feel about throwing away the plastic tank once the coil has run its lifespan. But for the purposes of this review, we will try and put it to one side.
Augvape have built up a reputation for building high quality devices, so I was super excited to get my hands on the VX200. As it looked such a sweet looking mod, from the photos I had seen. Especially having tested the stunningly well made Augvape Druga Foxy mod, which was a design icon.
Augvape were kind enough to send me this kit direct, and reel of charge, but as with all my reviews, this will in now was sway my opinion, and I will give you me honest unbiased opinions on it, good or bad.

The first thing you notice when you get the mod out of the box is how super lightweight it is, even when the tank is installed, The Augvape design team have worked hard to keep the weight down as much as possible, to make it as pocket friendly as possible. Weighing in at just 65 grams, that’s super light even with the 2x 18650 batteries and a fully filled tank on top.
The Augvape Vx200 comes with a 1.3 inch colour screen, this screen can be customized to suit your needs, with an easy to navigate menu with plenty of options including the four power modes: variable wattage – variable voltage – bypass and temperature control. I did find the screen to be a little dull, and when you take it outside it does become very hard to read in bright sun light.
As the name states the VX200 will fire all the way up to 200 watts, running of dual 18659 batteries. To fire the bevice, Augvape have opted for a fire bar, rather than a button, meaning the whole side of the mod is effectively a fire button.
Design and Build Quality
As stated this kit is super lightweight, due to being entirely made of ABS Plastic. Although this helps with keeping the weight down, it does unfortunately mean that it can feel a bit flimsy in the hand, and you can get a bit of creaking if you squeeze it to hard, and there is a small amount of movement in the rear door, which is held on with two magnets.
Truthfully I think I would have sacrificed some of the weight saving, and added an alloy body chassis, to try and give it a bit more stability, all being said, this creaking and back movement doesn’t effect the usage of the mod, and you need to take into account the relatively low price point of between $40 and $50. I would also add that although I haven’t , I’m unsure how well it would survive being dropped, so you will need to be super careful with it, as I’m sure you are with all of your vape gear.
Overall design wise, I can’t really fault what the Augvape design team vape done, I love the clean lines, and overall shape. Plus the stamped Augvape logo running down the side looks super cool. And gives you a stunning looking mod, taking its design ques from the iPhone type market.
The Jewel Tank.
The Jewel tank is the first disposable tank I have used, and first impressions are really good. It vapes as well as any non-disposable sub Ohm tank that I have used. And due to its simplicity would be perfect for newer vapours, looking for a no hassle tank to use.
At first I was a bit unsure as to the Jewel style design, but it seemed to grow on me after using it for a while,
The filling process was also super easy, with its small pull out rubber bung, which even with my ‘no nails’ was still really easy to pull out and put back in, and due to the fact the bung is attached at one end, your not going to loose it.
I loved the fact that the kit came with 3 different coloured tanks, which will keep you going for a while, as the mesh coils seem to last for quite a long time . And priced at about $12 for 3 more tanks, their not to expensive, considering they come preinstalled with Mesh Coils, not sure I would use them forever, but a good transitional tank, for people who don’t want to mess around changing out juiced up coils, and cleaning out the tank.
Augvape Vx200 Performance.
Underneath this delicate exterior, is a beast of a mod, with a super powerful chip set, firing up to 200w, with near instant power deliver, Augvape state that they have reduced the amount, and lengths of wire inside to reduce the firing delay. Not sure how much difference that would make, but one things for sure this thing fires like a gun, with virtually no ramp up time.
The menu is super easy to use, with just enough features for you to fiddle with and adjust, although you need to be quick with your selection before it times out. And jumps back to the main menu.
I have tried loads of my RDA’s and RTA’s on top of the VX200 ands its performance has been faultless, and really has missed a beat. I have been super impressed with the battery life on the VX200, not sure why but my standard 18659 batteries seem to be lasting longer on this mod than others, when Vaping at my normal 65w.
I got a good level of flavour from the supplied jewel tanks, in-line with some of my other non-disposable sub Ohm tanks, with great airflow adjustment, and zero issues with leakage, apart from self caused, when I over filled the tank, on first filling. I found it easy to fill, using most of my 50ml short fill bottles.
Augvape VX200 Positives & Negatives
Positives
- Good well tested chip set
- Fast firing, very little lag
- Easy to use menu options
- Lightweight pocket friendly
- Nice clean design
- Amazing battery life
- Option of mod or complete kit.
- Great flavour and loads of clouds
Negative
- Not the sturdiest design.
- Disposable tank?
- Fingerprint magnet
- Jewel tank design doesn’t real match the mod design.
- Battery door moves when firing
Final thoughts.
Great design, and looks amazing, still unsure if I like the idea of the disposable tanks, I just wish they had used the same Alloy chassis that they used on the Druga Foxy mod, to give the VX200 more stability. But all round great value for money kit, that performs faultlessly.
