Best Single-Battery Mods of 2019
Guest post by Jason Artman from eCig One
You’ll see no shortage of high-power dual-battery box mods at any good vape shop. While having a device that can deliver 200 watts of power is fun, though, many people are finding single-battery mods more compelling these days. Maybe it’s because mesh coils have made it possible to create enormous clouds without exceeding 100 watts, or perhaps it’s the fact that newer battery types such as the 21700 cell can allow a mod to reach higher wattages with just one battery. One thing is certain; many vapers are tired of carrying bricks in their pockets. So, is a single-battery mod for you? Our list of the best single-battery mods of 2019 will help you decide.

UWell Nunchaku
If you’d like a device with the style of a mech mod and the safety features of a regulated mod, look no further than the UWell Nunchaku. Although the unassuming exterior might make the Nunchaku look like a standard vape pen, the maximum power of 80 watts with a single 18650 battery would suggest otherwise.
UWell’s reputation in the vaping industry for delivering spectacular flavour is well deserved, and the Nunchaku includes a tank that more than meets the company’s stellar reputation. The Uwell Nunchaku tank features many of the same technologies present in the company’s well-known Crown tanks, such as the simple mess-free push-pull coil replacement method and the easy-to-clean condensate holder in the tank’s bottom hardware. The Uwell Nunchaku may look like a simple vape pen, but its performance is anything but that. This is a device that puts many dual-battery mods to shame.
Yosta Livepor
You may not have heard of Yosta before, but you’ll be hearing a lot more about them in the near future because this is a company that’s definitely ready to break into the mainstream vaping industry. The Yosta Livepor supports a single 21700, 20700 or 18650 battery and reaches a maximum power of 100 watts to get the most out of your demanding coils. Not only does this device have some pretty amazing features, but it also looks a bit like the Batmobile. That’s worth plenty of cool points in our book.Between the sleek appearance and the display that looks like a screen from a retro video game, the Yosta Livepor ticks all the right boxes.
SMOK Mag Grip
No list of the best single-battery mods would be complete without something from SMOK, arguably the world’s most popular vaping product manufacturer. The SMOK Mag Grip gets 100 watts of power out of the latest 21700 battery cells, and it also works with 20700 and 18650 batteries. This kit includes the famous TFV8 Baby V2 tank, which holds up to 5 ml of e-liquid and showcases SMOK’s latest coil designs.
Have you ever used a mod with a pistol grip? Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. Though it might look a little funny, the pistol grip allows the SMOK Mag Grip to fit very comfortably in the hand. The fire button is placed ergonomically under the index finger, and the screen – which rests on the back of the hand – is angled slightly toward the eyes for better readability. The biggest surprise of the SMOK Mag Grip, though, is the circular button right next to the fire button. Press it, and the battery magazine pops out of the device’s handle, just like the magazine of a pistol. Mods with the pistol-grip shape may not be for everyone, but no other company has executed the design as well as SMOK has with the Mag Grip.
Digiflavor Helix
While the Digiflavor Lumi tank offers excellent flavour and vapour production, it is also the primary drawback of the Helix kit in that it is a disposable tank. While most vaping kits these days include tanks with replaceable coils, the Digiflavor Lumi has a permanent coil that you can’t remove. You’ll refill the tank up to a maximum of about 10 times, and then you’ll throw the entire tank away and begin using another one. If you hate replacing atomizer coils, you might consider a disposable sub-ohm tank a desirable feature. For most people, though, buying an entirely new tank every few days isn’t nearly as affordable as buying a box of coils every week or two. Nevertheless, we applaud Digiflavor for doing something completely unique, and some people are definitely going to love using a disposable tank.
Vaptio Wall Crawler
Why should you choose between the safety of a regulated mod and the instant response of a mechanical mod when you can have them both at the same time? The Vaptio Wall Crawler mod uses the famed Supercharger Technology chip, which can fire a coil in just 0.005 of a second – faster than you can blink your eye. The Wall Crawler operates at up to 80 watts with a single 18650 battery.
The Vaptio Wall Crawler comes with all of the modern conveniences that you’d expect from a high-end mod, and those conveniences some with a surprisingly reasonable price tag. For starters, the Wall Crawler has a top battery compartment with a screw-on cap. The design keeps the body of the mod as compact as possible while also ensuring that the battery won’t pop out if you happen to drop the device. Need more? You’ll also love the push-pull coil replacement mechanism of the included Throne sub-ohm tank. To replace the coil, you don’t even need to remove the tank from the device. Just unscrew the tank’s top metal hardware and pull the coil straight out. Push in a new coil and screw the hardware back on. It’s the fastest coil replacement you’ll ever perform.
