KIZOKU Limit MTL RTA Review
Kizoku wasn’t a brand I had come across, until the team at Heaven Gifts sent over a selection of their products, the Limit MTL RTA which we are reviewing now, and the Kirin, which is a cool little Semi-Mech Tube Mod Kits.
These KIZOKU items where sent over for review from HeavenGifts, but my thoughts are my own and I am not influenced by the fact it was sent free of charge.
KIZOKU, is professional vape brand based in Japan which was founded in 2018. They specialize in manufacturing and selling high-quality vaping products with outstanding design and technology.
A relatively new player in the vaping industry, they have already managed to launch some innovative and unique products such as the Kizoku atomizer stand, a magnetized cube to arrange your tanks any way you want to.
KIZOKU describe the Limit RTA as follows:-
They have now launched their First RTA with replacement coil, The KIZOKU Limit MTL RTA is an innovative RTA with e-juice capacity of 3ml. The Limit RTA is designed with child lock on top and the valve leak structure in the slot for the convenience and efficiency. Moreover, it is a single-coil RTA that can be easily operated. You can also have fun of DIY coils with the tool bag. The airflow adjustment only makes the flavor and clouds flexible for MTL/DL vaping. With the stainless steel material,
It comes in the Box,

Design and Build Quality.
I must say I have been quite impressed with the build quality of the Limit RTA, all the machining and threading is to a high quality, especially the threading on the top cap is buttery smooth, and very precise. The overal design of the tank is quite ‘Old School’ and has the tall and thin design, that I remember from when I started vaping, and just started getting into Tanks and Rebuildables, I think it is the proportion of the Glass at the bottom and the stainless steel section of the tank, which is more design over usability, as it actually hinders the juice of how much juice you have in your tank. At 55.7mm tall it is taller than most of my Tanks, personally I prefer tanks with a shorter profile, which I think they could of achieved by removing the dell top, which seems to add quite a bit of height, and with the metal section of the tank, it does give it quite a top heavy look.
Airflow Control
The airflow control isn’t through the finely Knarled ring at the base of the tank, which has a single slot on one side, and has a precise amount of resistance, when you rotate it. Although it has single slot, you have a choice of either a single wider open slot, or a choice of Six holes, allowing you to have either all six open, all the way down to one hole open, which gives you a restricted MTL (mouth to lung) draw.
Even with it closed down to one hole, it still might not be tight enough for some true MTL vapors. But it was tight enough for me, a it gives a nice tight draw.
Running it with the slot open, it gives a nice loose Direct lung hit, not really for cloud chasing, but a nice loose draw.
Filling with Juice.
The Limit features a so-called childproof cap on it, firstly don’t leave you vape or ejuice, in reach of children, secondly not sure how childproof a threaded cap is. Anyway let’s put the child-proof-ness of the limit to one side. I actually quite like the mechanism of filling, it’s about five quick teens of the top ring, which raises the ring up, allowing you to then just push it back, to reveal the fill port.
Once it is open you can clearly see the fill port, or leak proof valve as KIZOKU call it, which is what I can see a rubber seal with a slit in it, as you can see in the photo, mine has split even further, which may be due to me being a bit rough with the juice bottle, and Sadler they don’t give you a spare.
Personally I find the valve or seal, more trouble than it’s worth, and would have preferred just a kidney shaped whole. As the rubber valve tends to cause air locks when filling up with juice, as there is no where for the air to go, due to the seal.
Also the seal seems to have juice resting on it, which is pushed off when you close the lid. Which then drips down the side. So you need to sort of wipe the seal before you close it, or wipe the side after you shut it.
RTA Base & Coil Conversion
The main USP of the Limit is the fact that it comes as standard with the RTA Single coil build deck pre-installed, but allows you to switch it out and run it on stock coils. I have come across Sub Ohm tanks which have the option to buy a RBA base which are normally tiny, due to fact they are designed to run stock coils. Heaven Gifts very kindly sent out a packet of Aspire Nautilus BVC Coils. Strangely I don’t think the Limit Kit actually comes with any stock coils, which would have been nice.
The Aspire BVC coils are the go to coil, so it is great that they fit as standard. Great flavour, and they last for ages.
To install the Stock coil, you simply unscrew the the build deck, and place to one side.
You can then simply grab you stock coil, and screw it into the threaded base. Just make sure you don’t over tighten.
You can then just screw the base back into the tank, don’t forget to prime your coils, by just dripping a few drops of ejuice directly into the cotton holes on the coil, then you can fill up the tank, and let it stand for a few minutes to let the juice soak in.
RBA Build Deck.
I really like the build deck on the Limit, it’s a real simple design, I just wish they had laid it out the other way around, as it is currently set for coils that have been reverse wrapped, which is the opposite way to most prewrapped coils, so you will need to wrap your own or find pre-wrapped coils that are reverse wrapped.
The coils are held in place by two small flat head grub screws. And the posts sit either side of quite a large airflow hole in the middle. The two descent sized wick ports sit either side.
these open out below the deck, to allow the juice to flood in. To be honest I haven’t really had any issue with wicking, as the juice seems to flow well, as long as you don’t cram the cotton in, you just need to let it float in the hole.
The KIZOKU Limit Build
The KIZOKU deck really couldn’t be easier to build on, it is literally cut-place-screw-wick.
Once you have loosened off the grub screws you can lay your coil in place, belly side up. And then holding it in place with your finger or coiling rod, you can then tighten up the screws, don’t worry if the coil twists, as you can straighten it up afterwards.
Then cut the coil legs off, as close as you can to the deck, to prevent any unwanted shorts, when the deck is screwed into the tank section.
Once you have adjusted the coil, and you are happy with the placement, then you can ‘Pulse’ coil, to remove any hot spots, by squeezing it with your tweezers and running your screw driver tip across the coil, but remember don’t touch the coil with anything metal, whilst firing it, as it will instantly short out and ‘Pop’.
Once you are happy with how the coil is glowing, you can cut a strip of cotton about 5-8mm wide, and remove the thicker backing off the cotton, and twist it in your fingers, and then thread the cotton through the coil.
And then comb it out gently, with your tweezers, and cut it to length, about level with the sides of the base. And trim as required.
Then carefully tuck the wick tails into the juice wicking holes, gently holding the opposite side, to ensure it doesn’t pull through, and repeat on the other side.
Once both sides are in place they should literally float in the hole, and you will just be able to see the cotton poking out the bottom, if it is too long, pull it back out, and re-trim until it is just right. It is worth spending your time getting it right, to prevent later issues, suck as dry hits, when the juice does flow properly, which is normally due to the cotton expanding and totally blocking the ports off. As you need t have a small gap to allow the movement of not only juice, but air as well.
Then you can prime the cotton up, with your chosen juice, applying the juice, whilst pulsing the coils, to stuck the juice into the coil.
Then you can insert the base and deck into the tank chamber.
Vaping Performance & Flavour
I have quite enjoyed using the Limit RTA, as I seem to be quite into the MTL style of vaping, and have found it a pleasure to use, I have vaped it with both the Stock coils, and the RBA Base. Although the flavour was ok on the stock coils, I did find the flavour, slightly muted, and a little muffled. Which I think was due to the length of the chimney, you tend to find the shorter the distance between the coil and the drip tip, the better the flavour. The RBA base with a simple Kanthal Coil installed, really popped, and a much improved level of flavour.
The Airflow system worked well, and I found running it with about 2 holes open was about right, for a good MTL draw. And it was nice to have the option of the wide open slot, should you want it.
Positive’s
- Great flavour on the RBA Base
- The option to run the RBA base or the stock Coil from Aspire.
- No real leaking issues.
- Wide choice of airflow.
- Childproof topcap.
- 510 Dri tip, so you can swap out.
- Nice design. Manufactured to a high standard.
- The Aspire Stock coils that fit as sold everywhere, as very popular.
Negatives
- Flavour slightly muted on the stock coil, due to chimney height.
- The juice seal doesn’t really work and split.
- Quite a tall Tank.
- Can only see the bottom half of the tank.
- Airflow might not be tight enough for true MTL vapors.
- RBA base set for reversed warped coils.
- Doesn’t come with stock coils, so have to be purchased separately.
Final thoughts.
All in all, I have, and am still enjoying using the Limit RTA, especially with the RBA Base, I think it is great that KIZOKU have designed it to run stock coils, and it would be perfect for the newer vapor, looking to move into rebuildables, as they can run it with stock coils, and then have a play with the Rebuildable section, to build confidence in rebuilding.
