Specification & Features
From Top to Bottom.
Constructed from high grade Stainless steel, the Kylin Mini features a standard 510 connection.
The base section incorporates the dual channel Airflow, which flows in through the wide slots on each side of the base, which can be adjusted via the Air Flow Control ring, which surrounds the base, with some nice knarling on each side.to allow you to get a good grip whilst rotating and adjust the Airflow.
The base is separated from the deck with a fat lipped o-ring. Which gives the tank glass a good foundation, the tighten down onto, prevent any leakage,
The Gold Plated deck, is of a postless design, with two coil tail holes, sitting evenly either side of the Honey Comb Air flow deck.
The threading runs either side of the deck, with dual purpose cut outs on either side, the cut out not only houses the recessed M4 Philip Head screws, but also double up as the juice wick ports, which allows for the wick, to lay down when the chamber is screwed down.
The Honey Comb Airflow defuser surrounds the coil 180 degrees, delivering the Airflow not only to the sides of the coil, but all around the underneath, helping to Not only increase Vapor Production, but to channel the Airflow for maximum flavour.
Contrasting nicely with deck, the Stainless steel reduced chamber, effortlessly threads down onto the deck,
This reduced chamber intensifies the Kylins flavour production. Through its reduced size and coned shaped chimney entrance.
The Kylin Mini RTA, come with a choice of two tanks, the standard 2ml flat tank, and the 5ml bubble tank, to those want to go longer between refills. Personal I prefer the look of the 2ml flat tank.
Refills couldn't be easier, the top cap easily unscrews, and easy to handle with the stylish cog like machining running around the rim of the top cap. Along with some more Vandy Vape branding.
Once the to cap is removed, you gain access to two kidney shaped juice slots machined into the stainless steel top cap.
This stunning looking RTA is topped off with an 810 resin wide bore grip Tip, or if you prefer you can install smaller delrin18mm drip Tip.
Kylin Mini RTA Build.
The build on this tank couldn't be simpler, once the coil tails are trimmed to the appropriate length, and the M4 Philip grub screws loosened, you can literally drop the coil into place, tighten the screws back up and straighten the coil,
And once in place you can give the coil a small Pulse, to set the coil firmly in place, ensuring that the coil is far enough off the deck, to allow the 180 Honey Comb Airflow to work its magic.
It's worth spending a bit of time, to ensure that you get the coil nice a straight, to allow for easy wicking.
Wicking the deck is a pleasure. After selection your chosen Cotton, it easily slips through, and can be trimmed off just level with the base of the wicking port.
You can simple place the wick down into the channel, to ensure it fits correctly.
Then after priming the cotton, you can screw down the chamber, which will cleverly fold & hold the wick in place, leaving just the base of the wick poking out of the bottom.
Vaping & Everyday Performance.
I'm a massive fan of single coil RTA's, and I'm pleased to see that they are making a bit of a resurgence. With brands such as Vandy Vape leading the way.
Coiling this tank up was an absolute pleasure, no fuss, no mess, with seemingly right first time wicking, with no need to go back and adjust, the design of the chamber folding down the wick, seems to work really well. And as you may know I have never been a fan of pointless juice flow adjustment, so glad to see the wicks just poking out underneath. Giving you perfect wicking every time.
Once wicked and juiced this tank soon sizzles into action, giving out a really satisfying crackle, with every draw, you just know it wicking a treat, when that happens.
Personally I have been running the Airflow wide open, were it delivers a lung satisfying amount of Vapor, with no whistle.
The reduced chamber design, makes for some super flavoursum vapes. Delivering a warm dense Vapour. Out through the wide bore drip Tip. Which I must say feels great on the lips.
I defiantly prefer the look of the Kylin Mini, with the standard flat tank installed, rather than the bubble tank. And quite happily substitute the amount of juice it holds, over looks.
Normally I have a positive and negative section towards the end of the review, but to be honest, I don't think there is anything, I would want to change on this tank. I have a real soft spot for compact single coil tanks, personally I find single coil tank are just so much more efficient, using less Wattage to power the coil, longer battery life, and I'm convinced that you get better flavour from a single coil, running at a lower Wattage, (I run mine at around 45w). Plus you get through less juice.
The Kylin Mini RTA from Vandy Vape is a great addition to anyone's Vaping collection. Defiantly in my top Five RTA's
