Introduction
This battery was provided by Joe at www.smokeyjoes.biz for the purpose of this review. It is described on the smokey joes website as follows: These batteries are ideal as an upgrade to variable voltage or for e-cig users that find themselves breaking their normal ego battery due to it coming apart from force or dropping the device etc, they are a tougher and more robust design, and also look really cool.
They are available online or in store in a choice of colours Silver, black, red, blue, purple and green with a retail price at £15.00
Features and Specs
This is a 1300 mah battery, with variable voltage from 3.6v upto 4.2v. with 510 ego cone threading. It is compact in size measuring 103mm long and 20mm in diameter, with a stated charging time of 2.5 to 3 hours. With a Desay'A Grade battery cell inside. Its tough outer casing.
The variable voltage is selected by pressing the fire button five time to turn it on, five time again to select 3.6v, five time again to select 3.8v, again to select 4.2v, and final five times to turn the unit off.
To charge this unit, simple unscrew you tank, and screw onto the USB charging cable. Which I believe on this type of tough battery is a better idea, as you normally find the little micro USB charging point on some batteries is the first thing to fill up with grit, and fluff, and not allow you to charge it.
Aesthetics and build quality.
When I first started vaping, all I used was the ego style batteries, as most people do. And one of the issues I found with these entry level batteries, wasn’t how long the battery would last me when vaping, but how long the battery would last when I put it in my pocket, I must say that I did get through a few of them, the main problem I found was that the top cap of the classic ego style variable voltage batteries are mainly push fitted together, so I did tend to find the top caps tended to snap off in my pocket pulling all the insides of the switch and circuit out with it.Where as the X6 BATTERY, seems to be a cut above, in terms of build quality. It seems to be built to last, with its tough Maglite styling, and rubberised neoprene fire switch. The body of the battery seems to be one complete unit, no visible top or bottom cap that would or could snap off. Even dropping it from six feet, seemed to made no impact, standing on it, no impact, its solid, even the part of the battery that normally gets bent, which is the ego style threading is protected by the extended collar of the battery, which extends flush with the top.
On the top of the collar there are four groves to allow air flow if you fit a flush mounted tank.

The switch on this battery has a really nice positive feel to it. with a very tactile click when activated
In summary as far as build quality and durability I couldn’t really fault it, it is one tough little battery, which is built to last.
Performance and real world experience
size compared to SVD in 350 Mode |
It feels great in the hand, I like the texture they have banded around it, and the curves in the body, make it really easy to grip, And comfortable to hold. And you know that if it roles off the table and hits the deck you can pick it up and it is going to fire again.
Recommendation.
Having used the EGO 1300MAH X6 BATTERY, and put it through its paces, I would not hesitate to recommend this battery to anyone looking to take the next step up to variable voltage, or just looking to get a simple go anywhere, do anything type battery, tough battery unit, that I think looks great and performs well. And great value for only £15.Supplied by :www.smokeyjoes.biz
