Introduction:
This Clearomizer tank was supplied by Joe at www.smokeyjoes.biz, just one of his great range of tanks. And is available in store or to order online for £15.99 with free post and package, I have reviewed a few Innokin Tanks since I started this review blog, so was really keen to get my hands on the latest version in the iClear range.Presentation:
As with all of the Innokin iClear range it came in a plastic presentation box, with a clear plastic lid. With the iClear logo at the top, and the authentication code on the bottom. On the back of the box, they have placed clear step by step instructions of how to fill, and how to change the coil.Inside the box, the Clearomizer, is securely set in a moulded plastic surround, once the X1 is removed this plastic layer can then be removed, revealing two spare coil heads. Which is a really positive addition, considering the Clearomizer comes with one pre-installed, so that's 3 heads in total, which I think is great value included in the pack, - well done Innokin.

Features & Specs:
Bottom Cap with Coil head installed |
This whole bottom cap unscrews smoothly to expose the replaceable head that contains the coils and wicks, this head is stated to have increased air flow, through the extra air holes on each side of the connection posts, under the head. The head contains dual coil stacked wicks, so each wick is directly over the top of the other one, rather than on opposing sides in a cross.
Filling holes, with bottom cap removed |
Filling of the tank is also done through this bottom, by unscrewing the bottom cap, it reveals the inner-casing which has slots either side of the centre air post, which you can easily fill juice through.
Bottom Cap with Head removed, showing airholes |
As stated in the title, this clearomizer has non-removeable a Pyrex tank,
Pros of Pyrex Tanks
Pyrex Tank Section |
Due to the fact they are made of Pyrex glass, they are completely resistant to erosion. Regardless of the acidity level of the liquid being used, This makes it potentially much longer lasting than plastic tanks. Some people also state that it can also effect the flavour you get from the ejuice, I have not experienced this yet, but are yet to try the same ejuice side by side, in a blind test.
Cons of Pyrex Glass Tanks:
The major drawback of Pyrex Glass, is their propensity to break when dropped. Although generally made of durable Pyrex glass, a drop from a standing position could very well break the glass tank. Moreover, Pyrex tanks have been known to break in pockets when bending down.
Innokin, I feel to compensate for the possible weakness in the Pyrex have bonded the top cap, and upper bottom cap to the Pyrex tank, with the fixed centre post bonding the whole tank together, and in doing so have created, what feels a very strong tank system. With no obvious weak points that you would normally have when the Pyrex is threaded to the top and bottom.
The fixed top cap has a removable 510 push fit dripper, which fits very snugly with two O rings to hold it in place. But can be removed when needed for cleaning purposes, or to interchange it with your favourite drip tip.
Aesthetics & Build Quality:
The Innokin iClear x1 is my favorite looking tank from the iClear range, with its nice clean straight lines. It has a nice level of detail on the outer casing, with lite laser etching around the outer edged of the removable bottom cap, and upper bottom band has the iClear x1 Brand name followed by Taste it Love it.
It has a 1ml to 3ml marking on the side of the Pyrex tank, and topped off with more laser etching around the top cap.
All in all a really nice looking tank in my opinion, this classy modern look, I feel is backed up by great build quality, the whole unit feels really well made and solidly put together, from the snugness of the drip tip to the smoothness of the treading, just adds to the overall quality feel of this great value Product from a manufacture that you can trust.
Performance & Real World Experience:
I have been using this tank to review many eJuices over the last few weeks, and I really haven't been able to fault it. It seems to produce a great level of flavour, and a mass amount of vapor, which I am sure is down to the large amount of airflow, that seems to flow through this tank. Works well for mouth and throat hits, but due to the level of airflow, also allows for great month to Lung hits, through allowing you to take massive air filled draws on it.Recommendation:
The Innokin iClear X1 is defiantly my favorite Clearomizer, I have used so far, since I started vaping. And can't recommend it enough, as a well built solid vaping tank, producing a great flavour, clouds of vapor, with amazing airflow.Although I must point out if you are looking for a tighter draw, this tank may not be for you. It's one of those tanks that the harder you suck, the more air you can pull in, and the more vapor it seems to produce, without feeling your vaping experience will be limeted by the airflow. Great set up.
