OXVA VPRIME Pod System Review
Premium Style Meets Practical Simplicity — But is it All Smooth Sailing?
Introduction – The VPRIME First Impression
When OXVA announced the VPRIME, I was genuinely intrigued. As someone who's reviewed hundreds of vape devices over the years — from disposables to high-end box mods — I’ve seen just how crowded the pod system market has become. But the VPRIME doesn’t follow the trend blindly. It’s aimed squarely at the user who wants a compact, sleek pod device with a bit of intelligence under the hood — think pod simplicity, but with the feel and function of a mini-mod.
It positions itself as a stylish, smart pod system with wattage control, airflow options, and a stunning screen — all wrapped in high-end materials. Think of it as a crossover between the user-friendliness of disposables and the power of more advanced systems. And that’s exactly what makes it stand out. But does it truly deliver where it matters most: flavour, convenience, and build quality?
Let’s find out.

Design & Build Quality
This is where the VPRIME really shines. Right from the unboxing, it feels like a premium product. The zinc alloy frame gives the device a solid, reassuring weight in the hand. It’s sleek without being slippery, and the leather inlay adds a touch of elegance that really elevates the look. I reviewed the Tan Leather edition — and I’ve got to say, it’s one of the nicest looking pod systems I’ve handled in a long time.
The leather isn’t just for show either, feels authentic, and adds grip during use. It also held up impressively well over a couple of weeks in my pocket and vape pouch — no stains, scratches, or fraying. If you’re someone who appreciates craftsmanship in a vape device, the VPRIME ticks all the boxes.
The 0.96-inch OLED screen is another standout feature. It’s small but pin-sharp, giving you all the essentials: wattage, battery percentage, coil resistance, puff count, and a puff timer. The UI is simple and functional — The VPRIME also has two additional themes, which I will briefly cover later.
The fire button is firm and clicky, placed comfortably above the screen. The +/- wattage buttons are located on the right side of the device, which are equally tactile and well-integrated.
The airflow slider sits on the left ide of the device, which had a nice amount of firm resistance and while it looks the part, I found the range of airflow adjustment a little limited — more on that shortly.
Located just below the screen is a very bright LED Indicator, which lights up whilst you are vaping (which can be turned off) and also gives you a red light when the battery goes flat.
On the base you will find the USB Type C port, 2 Torx screw heads and the text “2600mAh, Made in China”.
The device comes in great choice of colours and finishes:
Each one offers a slightly different aesthetic — from professional to playful — but all share the same premium finish.
Controls and Interface
Using the VPRIME is refreshingly simple:
- Power On/Off = press the fire button 5 times to turn on or off.
- Vaping = press the fire button or inhale on the mouthpiece to vape.
- Battery indicator = The screen displays the battery percentage remaining and an icon.
- Battery indicator when charging = The screen will display the charging progress as both an icon and a numerical percentage. The screen will turn off when fully charged.
- Turn on / off manual firing = press the “+” and “-” adjustment buttons at the same time to lock or unlock the fire button.
- Adjust output = press the adjustment buttons to increase (+) or decrease (-) the required power on the screen.
- Puff counter reset = press the fire button twice to access the secondary menu to reset the puff counter. To scroll use the adjustment buttons and use the fire button to confirm the selection.
- Secondary menu = press the fire button twice and a secondary menu offers you the options to adjust the screen theme, the lighting effect (you can turn the lighting off) and puff counter reset. To scroll use the adjustment buttons and use the fire button to confirm the selection.
The OXVA VPRIME can be used with three different display themes, all following a space theme.
Cosmic Journey Theme
This theme displays the battery percentage and icon at the top of the screen.Below that is the selected output in watts.
Underneath you will see a padlock icon, which shows if the fire button is locked or unlocked.
In the circles below you will see the pod resistance in ohms (Ω) and your puff time in seconds.
The bottom of the screen displays the puff count.
🚀Space Boy Theme
With this screen theme things are a bit crammed up. But you do get a lovely image of an astronaut. When you first press the fire button, you get an animation of the Space boy flying through the air.
Again at the top is the battery remaining icon and percentage with the power output below with the W symbol (for Watts).
At the side of the output is the padlock symbol.
The next row displays the pod resistance and puff time, with the puff counter value at the bottom of the screen.
🚀Rocket Launch Theme
For this theme the data is set with a space rocket as the main image. With a nice little animation of the rocket taking off, when you first hit the fire button.
At the top is the puff counter and the spark symbol shows the battery percentage remaining.
Then you have the pod resistance and puff time.
At the bottom is the output value in W (Watts) and the padlock symbol.
Overall Nice and Simple
No convoluted menus, no modes you’ll never use — just clean, straightforward functionality that makes it accessible even for newer users looking to step up from disposables.
🔋Battery & Charging Performance
The built-in 2600mAh battery is decently sized for a pod system of this class. When using the 0.6Ω cartridge at lower wattages (12–18W), I comfortably got a full day of moderate use. The 0.2Ω coil at 25–30W drained the battery more quickly — but that’s to be expected.
Thanks to the USB-C 2A fast charging, the VPRIME recharges in about 45–50 minutes, which is really impressive. The screen shows charging progress and cuts off once the battery is full — no trickle charging or overcharging worries here.
Built-in Safety Features
OXVA has included a solid set of protections:
Short circuit protection
Overcharge and over-discharge protection
10-second cut-off
Low voltage warning
Overheating protection
During my time using the VPRIME, I didn’t encounter any errors or malfunctions — everything worked reliably and smoothly.
UNItech Coil Technology
Pods, Coils & Filling System
Now to the business end: the VPRIME pods.
OXVA includes two pod cartridges:
0.2Ω Mesh (best around 45 to 60W – more vapour, flavour-intensive)
0.6Ω Mesh (best around 20 to 25W – cooler, smoother, more conservative)
The flavour from both was very good, with the 0.2Ω standing out particularly for boldness and vapour production. I used a few different 50/50 and 70/30 e-liquids and had no issues with wicking or dry hits. The 0.6Ω pod worked beautifully for stealth vaping and battery longevity.
Fiddly Filling Woes
Unfortunately, filling the pods proved frustrating. The small rubber fill tab — located on the side of the cartridge — is awkward and difficult to open, especially if you have short nails and fat fingers, like I do. Add a bit of e-liquid on your fingers and it turns into a wrestling match. You have to catch the edge just right, and it will pop open.
I would love to see OXVA redesign this tab, maybe with a little grip edge, pull tag or even slid up to open.. It’s a small thing, but it makes a big difference during daily use.
The 2ml UK Limitation
One major annoyance: the TPD-mandated 2ml capacity. The pods are clearly designed to hold 5ml, but in the UK version they include a frosted rubber insert that occupies most of the pod’s internal space. It not only cuts your juice capacity but also makes it really hard to see your e-liquid level. I often found myself squinting or pulling the pod to tilt it just right to check if I was nearly dry.
It’s an annoying limitation of regulation, but I do wish manufacturers would find a clearer solution — the frosted insert really detracts from the clean look and usability of the pod.
Real-Life Performance
Let’s talk about how the VPRIME actually vapes.
I must say, apart from the filling, and the 2ml frustrations, I have been really impressed with how the VPrime vapes, clouds of lush vapor, with full on flavour, and so fave I have been vaping it for about a week, and got through about 100ml of eliquid, and the coils and flavour preproduction is still bang on, with not sign of any burnt taste, or flavour muting.
Flavour & Vapour
0.2Ω Pod: Outstanding flavour, especially for dessert and fruit flavours. Warm, dense vapour and a satisfying DTL draw.
0.6Ω Pod: Mellow, smooth and ideal for high-nicotine salts or lighter fruit flavours. Still plenty of flavour, but much less battery-intensive. and nice RDL draw
🌬Airflow Control
I did really like the airflow control,. The airflow slider works really well, with just the righ amount of resistance, but the difference between fully open and nearly closed wasn’t dramatic. Even when tightened down, it still leaned more towards a restricted DL draw rather than a true MTL.
If you prefer the option to select tight, disposable -style draws, you may find the airflow too loose. I would’ve loved the ability to fully close the airflow down for a proper MTL experience — something that would really have made this pod system more versatile.
💧Leaking?
None. Despite my initial concerns about leaking onto the leather panel, the VPRIME performed flawlessly. No leaks, no condensation build-up — and no stained leather, which was a big relief.
Pros & Cons
👍Pros:
✅ Premium build and materials
✅ Crisp OLED screen with themes
✅ Fast USB-C charging
✅ Great flavour from both coils
✅ Leak-free experience
✅ Simple and effective controls
✅ Compact and comfortable in the hand
👎Cons:
❌ Fiddly fill tab — nightmare with short nails
❌ TPD insert ruins visibility and capacity
❌ Airflow adjustment is too subtle
❌ No coil replacement — pod-only system (less eco-friendly) Would love to see a cheaky RBA pod.
Final Verdict – A Solid, Stylish Contender
The OXVA VPRIME is a well-thought-out pod device that balances design, performance, and simplicity beautifully. It delivers fantastic flavour, has a genuinely premium feel, and nails the core features that most pod users want — without veering into overcomplication.
However, it’s not perfect. The awkward fill tab and limited airflow range could frustrate some users, and the TPD-restricted 2ml pod is a real limitation for UK vapers.
That said, if you’re after a pod system that looks classy, performs well, and gives you just enough control to tailor your vape without overwhelming menus — the VPRIME is absolutely worth checking out.
Would I recommend it?
Yes — especially if you value aesthetics, quality, and flavour over ultra-tight MTL or replaceable coils.
