OXVA XLIM3 Ultra Review

OXVA XLIM3 Ultra Review

The most advanced XLIM ever Engineered for flavour perfection and premium touch

Sent to me by OXVA as part of their 6th Anniversary celebration

Introduction

OXVA has spent the last few years steadily refining what a modern pod system should be: compact, reliable, flavour-focused, and accessible to both new and experienced vapers. The XLIM series in particular has earned a strong reputation for consistency, coil performance, and everyday usability.

The OXVA XLIM3 Ultra, released as part of OXVA’s 6th anniversary celebrations, feels like the culmination of everything they’ve learned so far. It’s not just an incremental update — it’s a significant step forward, bringing together a large full-colour touchscreen, a powerful yet efficient battery, refined airflow control, and compatibility with one of the most versatile pod platforms on the market.

After spending proper time with the XLIM3 Ultra, it’s clear that this device is designed to sit right at the top of the pod category. It offers excellent flavour, impressive battery life, and a level of customisation that is still relatively rare in pod systems. In my opinion, this is easily one of the best pods currently available, and I can genuinely see it becoming one of the benchmark pod devices going into 2026.

What’s in the box

OXVA keeps things clean and practical with the XLIM3 Ultra packaging. Everything you need to get started is included, with no unnecessary extras:

  • 1 × OXVA XLIM3 Ultra device (built-in battery)

  • 1 × XLIM V3 pod – 0.6Ω (pre-installed)

  • 1 × XLIM V3 pod – 0.8Ω (spare)

  • 1 × USB-C charging cable

  • 1 × User manual & warranty information

The inclusion of both 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω pods means you can immediately try both restricted-DL and MTL styles without needing to purchase additional pods. It’s a thoughtful touch and makes first impressions much better for new users.

Specifications

  • Battery capacity: 1500 mAh (internal)

  • Output power: 5–30 watts

  • Display: 2.2-inch full-colour touchscreen

  • Activation: Auto-draw and button-fire

  • Charging: USB-C, 5V/2A fast charging

  • Pod capacity: 3 ml (standard) / 2 ml TPD version

  • Fill method: Top-fill

  • Airflow: Adjustable side airflow control

  • Materials: Zinc alloy chassis with PCTG pod

  • Compatible pods: XLIM V3 pods, XLIM pods, EZ pods

  • Coil resistances supported: 0.4Ω / 0.6Ω / 0.8Ω / 1.2Ω

For a pod device, these are strong specs, particularly the battery capacity and screen size, which put the XLIM3 Ultra firmly into “flagship pod” territory.

Build quality and design

The first thing you notice when picking up the XLIM3 Ultra is how solid it feels. The zinc alloy body gives it a premium weight without being overly heavy, and the overall build quality is excellent. There are no sharp edges, no loose parts, and no pod rattle — everything fits together precisely.

Design-wise, OXVA has struck a nice balance between modern and understated. The device looks clean and professional, rather than flashy, and the finish options (including carbon-style and textured panels) give it character without going over the top.

The 2.2-inch touchscreen dominates the front of the device, but it’s been integrated very well. It doesn’t make the XLIM3 Ultra feel bulky, and the screen remains clearly visible even outdoors. Fingerprints are inevitable with any touchscreen, but it’s easy to wipe clean and doesn’t detract from the overall appearance.

Pods sit flush with the top of the device and feel secure. The top-fill design is discreet and well-sealed, and during testing I experienced no leaking or condensation issues.

Functions and controls

This is where the XLIM3 Ultra really separates itself from earlier XLIM models.

The touchscreen interface is responsive, bright, and intuitive. Navigation is straightforward, even if you’ve never used a touch-based vape device before. You can adjust wattage precisely, lock the screen, reset the puff counter, and customise basic display options directly from the screen.

OXVA has also wisely retained a physical fire button, meaning you’re not forced to rely solely on touch controls. You can choose between:

  • Auto-draw

  • Button-fire

  • Or a combination of both

This flexibility makes the device feel more accommodating to different vaping styles.

The smart chipset detects the pod resistance instantly and suggests an appropriate wattage range, which is especially helpful for less experienced users. Safety features such as short-circuit protection, low-voltage protection, and over-charge protection are all present and operate silently in the background.

Vaping and everyday use

Flavour performance

Flavour is where the XLIM3 Ultra truly shines. OXVA’s UniTech mesh coil technology continues to deliver some of the best flavour available in a pod system.

The 0.6Ω V3 pod produces rich, full flavour with excellent vapour density, making it ideal for restricted-DL vaping and lower-strength freebase e-liquids. Fruit, dessert, and beverage flavours all come through clearly with good separation. This was my favourite pod, when paired up with Doozy Vape Co Pod Fill 3 Vanilla Custard, which I will be reviewing shortly. It's amazing.

The 0.8Ω pod shifts the focus toward a tighter draw and smoother delivery, perfect for nic salts and MTL vaping. Tobacco and menthol flavours perform particularly well here, with a clean and consistent output from start to finish.

Across both pods, flavour remains consistent even as the battery level drops — something not all pod systems manage well.

I stand by the fact that I think OXVA have managed to create and perfect the refillable pods, they are a country mile ahead of anything else on the market at the moment, and my gp to choice, when review e-liquids'

Airflow

The adjustable side airflow control allows for genuine customisation. Fully closed, you can achieve a tight, cigarette-style MTL draw. Open it up gradually and it transitions smoothly into a comfortable restricted-DL vape.

The airflow is quiet and well-balanced, with no noticeable turbulence or whistle. It pairs extremely well with the different pod resistances, making the XLIM3 Ultra suitable for a wide range of vaping preferences.

Battery life and charging

With a 1500 mAh battery, the XLIM3 Ultra easily delivers all-day performance for most users. Running the 0.6Ω pod at moderate wattages, I consistently achieved a full day of heavy use without needing to recharge.

The USB-C fast charging (2A) is another standout feature. Charging is quick and efficient, making short top-ups genuinely useful rather than a chore. Battery percentage is clearly displayed on the screen and feels accurate throughout the discharge cycle.

Everyday reliability

In day-to-day use, the XLIM3 Ultra proves itself as a dependable device. Pods are easy to fill, coils last well, and the device performs consistently without misfires or power fluctuations.

The screen lock feature is particularly useful for pocket carry, preventing accidental wattage changes. Overall, it’s a pod system that feels designed for real-world use, not just spec sheets.

Coil and pod compatibility

One of the biggest strengths of the XLIM3 Ultra is its compatibility with the wider XLIM ecosystem.

Supported options include:

  • 0.4Ω pods – Warmer vape and increased vapour production, best for lower nicotine

  • 0.6Ω pods – Excellent balance of flavour and vapour, ideal for RDL

  • 0.8Ω pods – Smooth MTL with great flavour clarity

  • 1.2Ω pods – Tight MTL, low power usage, ideal for high-strength nic salts

The ability to use multiple pod generations and resistances makes the XLIM3 Ultra extremely versatile and future-proof. Coil longevity is also very respectable, provided you use appropriate e-liquid ratios and stay within recommended wattage ranges.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Outstanding flavour across all pod options

  • Large, clear, and responsive touchscreen (Best I have used)

  • Excellent battery life with fast USB-C charging

  • Wide pod and coil compatibility

  • Solid, premium build quality

  • Suitable for both MTL and RDL vaping

Cons

  • Touchscreen may feel unnecessary for users who prefer ultra-simple pods

  • TPD version’s 2 ml capacity means more frequent refills

  • Not designed for fully open DL cloud-chasing (by design)

Conclusion

The OXVA XLIM3 Ultra is one of the most complete pod systems OXVA has released to date. It successfully blends strong performance, excellent flavour, premium build quality, and modern features without losing the simplicity that pod users value. and is a fitting tribute to help celebrate 6 years of design innovation in the vaping industry.

It’s rare for a pod device to feel this refined while still being approachable, but the XLIM3 Ultra manages it effortlessly. Whether you’re an MTL vaper using nic salts or someone who prefers a restricted-DL experience with freebase liquids, this device adapts extremely well.

Having spent significant time with it, I can confidently say this is one of the best pod systems on the market right now, and I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see it widely regarded as one of the standout pod devices of 2026.

OXVA has clearly put a lot of thought into this release — and it shows.
