Vekto Vaping Tool Kit by Graph-X: The Precision Builder’s Choice
The team at Graph-X kindly sent out a couple of the vaping toolkits that they have designed, and we will start by reviewing the original kit, the Vekto Vaping Tool Kit.
The Story Behind the Brand
Before we dive into the hardware, it is worth looking at the story behind the brand. Graph-X started life back in 2017 and was born out of frustration with the poor standard of coil building kits that were available at the time. There was a clear lack of thought and craftsmanship in the industry, which led to substandard, oversized tools that were often crammed into weak, awkward-to-carry cases without storage space for cotton and wire. As many veteran builders know, those cheap elastic retaining straps would often snap, leaving tools rattling around.
As avid vapers and coil builders, founders Ben and Chris knew there was a much better way of doing things. They set out on a mission to create the ultimate coil building kit. Starting from the ground up, the team "designed out" the faults found in most other kits. The result was VEKTO—a compact, tough, and bespoke kit meticulously perfected in Britain for the artisans and perfectionists of the vaping world.
Detailed Review of the Vekto Tool Kit
The Vekto kit is tough, yet beautiful. It is one of the smallest kits on the market, yet it manages to house every single tool needed to create the best coils.
The Case and Storage
CASE: Made from recyclable plastics with 4mm thick sides, it is tough enough to withstand the rigours of life.
My Feedback: This thing is built like a tank. You can feel the quality in the thickness of the walls; it doesn’t flex or feel "cheap" like the plastic tubs most kits come in.
END CAPS: With over-moulded polyurethane, the robust end caps provide safe storage for cotton and other small items, whilst keeping them protected from dirt and moisture.
My Feedback: These provide a great airtight feel. It gives me peace of mind knowing my cotton stays bone-dry even if the kit is at the bottom of a damp gear bag.
TOOL SLEEVE: Polyurethane injection moulded in signature blue, the tool sleeve has been carefully thought out to make the best use of space whilst providing a snug fit for all of the tools within.
My Feedback: It’s a very tight fit. While it ensures nothing rattles, you might need a second to pry a tool out—but I’d rather have them secure than falling out every time I open the cap.
WIRE HOLDER: Designed by Graph-X and made from polypropylene, the wire holder fits neatly inside the bottom end cap. It is reusable and can be loaded with any wire of your choosing, holding it neatly and securely without tangles.
My Feedback: Finally, someone solved the "exploding spool" problem. It keeps your wire under control so you don't end up with a bird's nest of kanthal in your bag.
STORAGE COMPARTMENT: Injection moulded from polypropylene, the storage compartment fits nicely inside the end cap to create clean, dry storage for cotton and other small items.
The Rebuilding Tools
Graph-X designed many of these tools in-house to meet their exacting specifications:
WIRE CUTTERS: Designed specifically for VEKTO and manufactured from hardened steel. They measure just over 80mm from the tip of the cutting edge to the handles, meaning they are small enough for delicate work while being perfectly shaped to cut through wire.
My Feedback: These are impressively sharp for their size. The 80mm length makes them perfect for getting into tight RDA decks where standard "flush cutters" are often too bulky to snip the leads close to the post.
PLIERS: Another in-house design manufactured from hardened steel to ensure performance. At a little over 80mm in length, they are beautifully sized to fit the hand.
My Feedback: They have a really solid "bite." Great for pulling wire tight through a post hole or straightening out a lead without the tool slipping.
CERAMIC TWEEZERS: Again, of their own design and 80mm from end to end, they are the perfect size for handling delicate coils under heat.
My Feedback: A staple for any builder. These are sturdy and haven't gone brittle on me yet, which is a common issue with cheaper ceramic tips. Although I do find the handles a little short. but suits the compact kit.
POINTED TWEEZERS: Made from stainless steel and 80mm long, the ideal tool for fluffing cotton and wicking coils.
My Feedback: The tips are precision-ground. They are excellent for the "pancake" wicking method or just raking out the ends of your cotton to ensure the juice flows perfectly. Again a little on the small size, but very handy. for those tiny builds.
WIRE BRUSH: Stainless steel and just under 77mm long, an absolute must for cleaning and maintaining coils.
My Feedback: If you like to clean your coils rather than replace them every two days, this is a lifesaver. It’s the perfect size for a quick scrub during a dry burn. I use this type of brush all the time.
SCISSORS: Foldable to take up as little space as possible within the tool sleeve, these stainless steel scissors are sharp and cut through cotton with ease.
My Feedback: I was initially skeptical of folding scissors, but these are actually sharp. They cut through organic cotton pads cleanly without "chewing" the fibers.
Innovation in Drivers and Coiling
SCREWDRIVER BODY: A VEKTO innovation. The body is 80mm long and made from machined aluminium. The 4mm wide hexagonal hole accepts various screwdriver attachments, providing versatility without compromising space.
My Feedback: This is the smartest part of the kit. Having one high-quality handle and a variety of bits saves so much space.
SCREWDRIVER ATTACHMENTS: Supplied with a wide range of stainless steel attachments: Cross Head (1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm), Flat Head (2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm), and Hex Head (0.9mm, 1.3mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 3mm).
My Feedback: The Hex heads, in particular, fit snugly into grub screws, preventing the dreaded "rounding off" of your deck screws.
COILING TOOL & RODS: A revelation in coiling tools. Being adjustable, it can accept coiling rods of various sizes, eliminating the need for multiple jigs. It is supplied with stainless steel rods in sizes 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 3.5mm, and 4mm.
My Feedback: I love that I can swap the rod size in seconds. Whether I'm doing a tiny 2mm MTL coil or a beefy 4mm Cloud Chaser build, this one tool handles it all. It does take a bit of practice to get them nice a tight.
Final Verdict: An Absolute Steal
Overall, I love the design of this kit. It is rare to see a team design everything from scratch rather than just re-branding generic tools. While the sleeve is tight and can be a little fiddly to get the tools out, the portability and quality are unmatched.
The original Vekto is currently discontinued as they make room for new stock, and it is on sale for £14.99. Considering the RRP is £35.99, this is an absolute steal. They have about 200 left, so you need to be quick. Click here to get your now.
