OXVA Vativ Super Mod Kit Review
The team over at OXVA have been working hard to bring us the very best Vaping experience, following on from the recent product launches including the OXVA Velocity Pod Arbiter, Arbiter SOLO and Arbiter 2 They are aiming to take it to another level, with the All-New Vativ Super Mod. And with the name Super Mod, they have set the expectations high. So I was super excited to receive my review pack in the post to test and review. Regular readers of my blog know that I am a massive OXVA fan, so always excited to be testing out another one of their products.

OXVA Vativ Super Mod Kit.
Oxva Vativ Super Mod Kit consists of OXVA Vativ mod, Unione PnM Tank & Vativ Pod. With the OXVA Vativ mod being the first slide on pod mod, with a so called ‘lossless’ switching between pod mod section and 510 connection system, with the uniquely designed slideways connection system, which I must admit is the first time I have seem this type of connection system on a mod or pod system. So may we’ll be a world Vaping first. And confirms OXVA’s position in Vaping innovation and cutting edge design.
The Vativ mod features the ‘OXVA Buck-boost chipset’ boasting the ability of super-fast firing of less than 0.002 seconds, which is as close to instantaneous, that you are going to get, or at least be able to notice. With the addition of the advanced VPC mode which allows the user to set the percentage increasement of each 0.5s within the first 2.5s.
Surprisingly the New OXVA Vativ Super Mod kit is only powered by single 18650 battery (Not Included) with real 100W output. I think it would have been nice, as with the Velocity, to be powered by the 21700 battery, and included the adapter sleeve, should you wish to run it on the smaller 18650, but I’m sure OXVA had their reasons, possible chasing the larger 18650 market, and offering a smaller pod device.
It is worth noting that the OXVA Vativ Mod is one of the few newer kits in the marketplace that boasts having actual 510 connection, to allow you to use it with any of your other 510 connection tanks that you may own. The main difference being that the Vativ has the 510 connection build in, and isn’t added on to the device, as it is on the Velocity.
The single 18650 battery, may give the Vativ its compact size, but unfortunately means vape times will be limited at maximum output.
However, the batteries are easily accessible by lifting the back panel to expose the battery bay. And, although not listed in the specs, there looks to be a Type-C USB port on the control face that should replenish the cell if required when out and about, although I would always recommend charging on an external charger.
Design & Style
The OXVA Vativ Super Mod looks stunning. thanks to incredible its combinations of color and material. You can choose from either Medusa & SS, Skull & Black, Red Croc & Black, Gunmetal, or the limited edition Green Croc version. Along with the newly created logo design, on the side of the device, along with a full-color screen with a vertical button layout.
Total Control
The Vativ mod allows you to operate in four modes: smart, power, voltage, and VPC. With the new curve mode (VPC) this allows you to adjust the power curve in percentage increments to make it absolutely effortless.
The VPC mode means you can simply adjust the power to your liking and set the curve percentage to one of the 5 presets.
It is also stated that this OXVA Buck-boost chipset is also able to intelligently match the power output according to the coil inside the atomizer or tank, but according to website, it is stated, this only works for OXVA brand atomizers.
Battery Compartment
As stated the Vativ runs off a single 18650 battery, which sits firmly in place, and is cover by the curved battery door, which in turn is held securely by two strong magnets. Although I must admit, you do get a bit of door movement if you push it up and down. The battery doors seem to come in a matching material, which mine did, or it comes with a contrasting material or pattern. With mine being matching metal, it doesn’t give you much grip on the device, so I think if I was buying one, I would go for one of the textured door covers, to stop it sliding through your hand whilst Vaping. The snake skin one looks pretty cool. I would imagine that you will be able to purchase different doors, to personalise you mod. Or at a least get skins for them.
510 Connection
The OXVA Vativ Mod, has an all new design on the the standard 510 connection, with the addition of two contact points set off to one side, with a pair of channels running off from then, which the pod section spring loaded connectors run along as it slides into place.
OXVA Vativ Tank or Pod
What makes the Vativ kit special, is the fact that you can choose between, the included Unione PnM Tank, Vativ Pod, or one of your own 510 connection Atomizers.
OXVA Unione PnM Sub Ohm Tank
The OXVA Unione PnM Tank which features a 2ml Pyrex Glass tube for a supposedly purer flavour and its compatible with the Uniplus coils. The Unione PnM Tank adopts magnetic connection to allow for quick coils changes and juice filling along with cleverly designed bottom adjustable airflow system to fine tune your vaping experience and flavour.
The Unione PnM Tank has dimensions of 24.5mm by 53mm and has a 2ml juice capacity, which as stated is filled from underneath, via a small rubber plug, which can be a little tricky to open, due to the set back design.
The tank glass can be swapped out by simply unscrewing the top of the tank, using the supplied OXVA coin, which fits into the slot on the top of the device.
OXVA Vativ Pod
The newly designed Vativ Pod can be installed by simply removing the U shaped edging plate, that is located at the edge of the 510 connection, which is seemingly held in place by two small spring loaded ball bearings, which holds it firmly in place whilst the device is being used in 510 mode.
and when required it is very easily removed by just pulled on the recess and sliding it out, it would have been nice if you could slide it back on somewhere else on the device to prevent it from getting lost.
The pod section it’s self measures in at 51.5 x 25 x 33mm and has a capacity of either 4.5ml in the standard pod, or the reduced 2ml in the TPD Edition.
The Pod system can be broken down into two separate sections, the top tank section of the pod, which holds the coil, and the black base section, which slides onto the mod, and houses the Airflow control system. And means that once the pod section is in place, you can simply lift of the tank, which is held in place securely with 3 strong magnets. Should you need to get to coil.
The base section holds the Air flow control which can be adjusted using the the two horseshoe shaped slots on either side, which work independently of each, allowing you to have one open and one closed off, I did find the AFC quite fiddly to adjust and personally would have preferred it they had used the existing Airflow ring which come on the Velocity, and connected directly onto the base of the coil.
Filling the pod, couldn’t have been simpler, and is done through the top fill port, which is covered by a rubber plug.
And it is nice to see the pod comes with a 510 driptip, so can be swapped out if you wish, with one of your own.
The pod section is attached to the mod via rail system, which allows the pod to slide across the mods 510 plate, with two spring loaded ball bearings used to secure the pod in place when it reaches the correct position.
Choice of Coils
Both the pod and the tank use the included Uniplus Coil range, so you can use the same coils in both. With a choice of the Uniplus 0.15ohm Coil, that has been designed to be used as a ‘direct-to-lung’ vape with ejuice that has less than 6mg nicotine in the range of 70 to 80 watts or Uniplus 0.3ohm coilthat is designed to operates from between 35 to 40 watts, also with around 6mg nicotine strength.
According to OXVA, both coils produce immense flavor/vapor and the cotton inside will consistently provide pure flavor that lasts for the life of the coil. Which I would have to agree with, both of the coils I used, have performed faultlessly, with some of the best flavour I have had out of a pod coil, and I would say on par with the Unipro RBA coil in the Velocity.
Personally would have liked to see them stick with existing OXVA Unipro coils that they used in the Velocity POD system, which would have then allows you to use the OXVA UniPro RBA Coil.
I really wish manufacturers, not just OXVA, would stick with one size or style of Coils, allowing you to use all of their coils in all of their devices, rather than having to buy different coils for each device, and not being able to use existing Rebuildable coils such as the RBA from the velocity. Although I have heard that OXVA will be launching a Vativ Pod that will work with the Unipro sized coils. Just not sure why they didn’t just stick with it in the first place.
Final Thoughts.
I have been really impressed with the new Vativ Super Mod kit, and have had great results using both the Sub-ohm tank, as well as the pod set up. With both delivering amazing levels of flavour, and dense thick clouds from both the 0.15ohm and 0.3ohm coils, with my preference leaning towards the the 0.3ohm if I had to choose. The pod set up, was my go to set up, as it just worked and felt right, and ticked all the righ boxes. A set up I would definitely be recommending, I just wish they had made it based on the bigger 21700 battery, as the 18650 just doesn’t give you enough Vaping time. But maybe there will be a OXVA Vativ V2 or Pro version.
